Day of the Twisters

2018 Oct 09

When it comes to my personal life, I now an uncle, my brother Tony with his girlfriend had their child at around 9:30pm on the 8th. Yay me!

Just a week and some change ago, I released Day of the Twisters. I sorta stole the name from a B-movie called Night of the Twisters which was released somewhere in the mid-90s or even late-90s. I’m a fan of some of these shitty disaster B-flicks from the 90s and even the 2000s. Night of the Twisters wasn’t really funny (or at least it shouldn’t be), unlike my movie in which I throw a few funny elements to it. Without permission, I used the Tiny Toons clip where they drink beer. For those who were born in the 2000s or late 90s, Tiny Toon Adventures was like a small-version of Looney Tunes in the 90s, was on for a few years. And also, some of these cartoons back in the day would throw in a ‘special’ episode talking about some controversial items, like drinking beer and also Tiny Toons featured an episode about stealing.

The other funny clip comes from when Claire Barrington sees a man taking a crap in the sewer and cusses on air, followed by a kid yelling “Ehu you fag!” with other kids laughing. That clip was taken from an underground cassette tape (any of you remember those?) called Prank Calls From Hell Volume 2. As a teen, I was a fan of Jerky Boys and when an underground version of the Jerky Boys came up, I had to get the tape. Prank Calls From Hell came from a mail-order store called Nocturnal Empire, I bought the tapes in 1999 and laughed my ass off to that. The tapes feature a guy calling payphones in Shamokin and Sunbury Pennsylvania and just screwing with people. The guy eventually got caught and they removed the payphones he was calling (as I was told by the guy who ran the mail-order shop). The portion you hear, you don’t hear the caller, just the kids. Plus, I cut it a little to have the kid yell rubberdick before the hang up. At the end of the call, the caller says, “here, fuck this” followed by a hang-up, but not before someone yells rubberdick.

Another not-so-funny clip is a Tornado Warning interrupting The Big Bang Theory. Me personally, I don’t dig the show, but I see there is a lot of folks out there that hate this show with a passion. The show brings up a bothering moment in my life though. On the night March 2nd 2014, my Uncle Johnny died of a heart attack. The next day, the family gathered to his house to talk about plans for his funeral, a few of us were waiting on some calls so we watched some TV while waiting, and one of the shows was The Big Bang Theory. When I put that clip on the movie, it made me think somewhat about that day. Beyond that, I just don’t like that show.

Hopefully, you all enjoy Day of the Twisters, and one of these days, I’ll take more in-depth (I hate that word) about it on another post. So far, no thumbs down at the time of this post, so we are doing well. But eventually, someone will not like it. Oh well…

I was asked by one of my big fans on what I use to make the EAS vids, I replied “nothing that special.” Perhaps I should have been more receptive. Here are the following items I use for the EAS vids:

  • NCH Movie Pad
  • NCH Sound Tap Recorder
  • NCH WavePad
  • Microsoft Paint 3D
  • Natural Voices

Also, I’m going to attempt voice transmogrification for future vids, we can’t just hear the same voices over and over. Claire Barrington dies (maybe) in July 30th 2019, can’t keep that voice going and going.

Anyways, that’s it for now. My next vid will be out around November and next, Zombies part 3. This is a guess with Zombies part 3, but I’m trying to get Zombies part 3 on New Years Day 2019. No promises, that is just what I’m thinking.
